Hadji Banjovi

Providing a signature sound on the arco banjo (similar to the esraj of India) is Tucson’s own Hadji Banjovi. Hadji is a founding member of the Infinite Compassion Orchestra. When he’s not bowing the banjo, Hadji plays bells and kartals, and is known for abandoning his post on stage to dance amongst the devotees when kirtan gets ecstatic. He is a renowned glass artist, specializing in Dalle de verre, and is the lead singer for his country band, the Infinite Mercies. Hadji’s solo recording “Laredo” is a cult classic. Check it out on Bandcamp.
